It has been pointed out to me, by a dear friend, that I need to qualify something with
the time frame here... the moulds and patterns for this boat were already completed
for another pram and I am using them for this one... thus 'streamlining' my build! The
original pram can be found at: http://www.vertuekukri.com

Here is the space! Custom made to fit a 7'7" pram.

First, the strongback. Some incredibly crap SPF will do...

.... with special shoring to the walls for stability.

On go the moulds.

Here are the bow and stern transoms - to cut from some 3/8s
marine plywood .

Done. With bevels drawn on - ready to install on
strongback

The slightly unsavory task of epoxy lamination for the
forkeel and centre frame. Above is the result

Here you can see the laminations.

The forkeel and bow transom assembly about to get glued up.

The forkeel and bow transom installed. The centre frame
is also in position and about to be beveled.

Here is the transom installed, with the bottom pattern on top.

Bow transom glued up and forekeel installed. Planking next!

Here is the transom bevel going on.

Transom is beveled and ready to go. Next is the bottom
of the boat.

Dry fit and ready to epoxy. 2 planks a day?
This stage represents 4 days full time work.

The bottom must be beveled to recieve the
Garboard plank...

The Garboard pattern dry fit to check.

The Garboard planks cut out and ready to fit.

Voila! 2 more planks to go.

Just the Sheerstrake left...

And there it is - now just a lot of fairing on the garboard
planks and bottom, and some fillets and sanding before
I can flip her.

The long standing tradition of the Whiskey Plank.

Sand and fair... sand and fair... sand and fair.

On goes the first coat of primer.

And like magic, 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of Jade Green.
I almost mixed my own, as this green is just a little too blue,
but that would have been going a little 'too far'.

A couple of thin coats of varnish as well.

Flipped! I am happy with the garboard only paint.

Here are the Mahogany knee's, half-lapped for
strength and style!

All glued up.

Oars are under way as well - with Raid proof 1/4 sawn up!

The first seat goes in... a lot of work cleaning the plank
edges before primer and varnish.

Knees are fit and shaped with a slight upward angle to
hint at some camber.

The same, forward.

On goes the primer. If I build another, I will aim
to keep the inside bright.

Oh cranky mahogany. Why. Why. The starboard
side sprung on with no problem, port on the other
hand...

Here is a rail installed, but not cut to fit. The seat
supports are installed as well.

Getting close. The transoms need shaping, more paint
and varnish, more paint and varnish.

The sheer! Looking good.

Oars get the sandpaper.

More varnish: The seats and knees.
